There’s a sign by my back door that says, “Create Your Happiness.” I see it as I head out into the day, and it reminds me to keep participating in my own life.
For me, that begins with noticing. A beautiful color. A shared laugh. Something wonderfully ridiculous. Those small sparkles help me recognize what brings me joy. Then I can choose more of it: make time for something I love, try something I’m curious about, or enjoy a moment I might otherwise hurry past.
I call it stacking my odds for happiness.
